The purchase of foreign real estate very often affects resort facilities located in warm regions, where offers often come in, including not only the house and associated areas, but also the pool.
The first thing that comes to mind when it comes to real estate with a pool is an association with prestige. In any case, the price of a house with a pool will be higher than for a similar object, but without this element. Also, the consumption of water and its heating, if necessary, will add an additional load to the monthly expenses. If the pool is not in the territory of the house or in a special separate building, then you should prepare for the fact that you will have to spend some amount of time to clean it or assign these duties to a specialist.
Features of houses with pools
If you do not take care of the pool for 10 days, the water will deteriorate quickly and its content will increase significantly – therefore, in case of non-permanent residence in the house of the owners, in any case, you will have to pay a certain amount of maintenance costs for the pool. If the house is rented, the pool should always be in exemplary form. Typically, a specialist once a week cleans or changes the filter, reagents and cleans the surface of the pool. In European countries, one such visit is 100 euros, however, some agree on a more budget option, agreeing on long-term cooperation, or the employed person carries out other housework.
The main advantage of a house with a pool is its walking distance in the literal sense of this phrase. That is, there is no need to spend time gathering on the beach, especially when it comes to families with children, when not only the notorious hat and towel are taken with you, but also packages with toys, inflatable boats, a beach umbrella, change clothes, food, drinks and much more, as a result of which far from always rest remains that way. While in the case of a house with its own pool there are no problems – inflatable boats are already in the water, a closet with clothes, a bathroom and a kitchen are a minute from the pool.
Almost all unconditionally recognize the benefits of sea water, in fact, the purchase of resort real estate is primarily motivated by the possibility of a prolonged stay at sea. However, this is far from always possible due to weather and other circumstances. There are frequent cases when the weather broke out on the sea coast: big waves appeared, algae or random litter washed up to the beach, jellyfish were discovered or the water temperature became too cool for swimming.
If these problems are critical, then it makes sense to have a spare “bridgehead” – a home pool. Also, this option will be a good solution for those who prefer the most secluded vacation (of course, provided that the territory of the site with their own house is good enough to be called a chamber) – after all, someone can always appear on a little-known beach yet, and if it is a large youth company or several families with children, then this situation will not suit everyone.
In addition, not all owners of foreign real estate can boast of the location of the house in close proximity to the sea, when the house literally stands on the shore. That is, you still have to lay a certain amount of time on the road to the sea and back, in addition, you will have to prepare for prolonged movement in the heat with clearly empty hands.
If we are talking about moving by car, then periodically there may be problems with parking near the shore or it will take a long time to go to the water from them. For those people for whom the mentioned aspects are not so important, they can safely refuse the option of a house with a pool, thereby also deciding for themselves potential issues that may arise during its maintenance.
Similar factors may affect the liquidity of housing during subsequent resale. True, if we are talking about budget facilities, then, most likely, houses without a pool will be sold faster, and in a more expensive segment, houses with pools will be more in demand. Typically, houses with pools are 30% more expensive than usual.
Apartments with pools in the complex
In recent years, apartments in modern residential complexes, on whose territory one or more pools are often located, have gained particular popularity. If we are talking about buying this type of housing, then it will be important to think whether to buy apartments with pool views – on the one hand it can be a live picture, in addition, you can watch your floating children without leaving the apartment.
